Hannah Doyle’s third baby

Hannah Doyle’s had three babies this year. Two twins and a book baby!

In the run-up to Mother’s Day, I like to spend a good amount of time in Hotel Chocolat, following that elusive taster tray around like a canapé pest at a party. Often I’ll have to pop back in at another time, you know, just to make sure I’ve made the right purchase for Mumsy (EAT MORE FREE CHOCS).

On M Day itself I’ll head back to the mothership, present said box of chocolates to my mama and then attempt to rustle up some food for us. She will be very enthusiastic about my cooking endeavours, even though I can’t match her brilliance in the kitchen, but that’s probably because we’ll be having a celebratory glass of fizz with lunch.

Only this year, my Mother’s Day is going to be a smidge different, because I’ve got three babies now. How the heckers did that happen?! Well, two can be explained through simple biology and I won’t go into details because my mum might be reading this. *Blushing face emoji*

So I’ll be celebrating this Mother’s Day as a first time mum to my baby twin boys. TWINS! I am now the proud owner of two not-so-tiny, squidgy little humans who love nothing more than to giggle and puke, often at the same time.

But what about the third baby? That comes in the shape of my very first novel, The Year of Saying Yes. Yep, I spent 2016 popping out two actual babies and writing a book baby all in one go!

I can’t tell you how much fun I had writing The Year of Saying Yes, especially the scenes involving drunken antics, because much of it was written while I was #preggers. Which may explain why my main gal Izzy gets to chat up pirates/perform live at Glastonbury while I cosied up at home/watched another button pop off my jeans.

I’m proud of all three of my little buns and if you give it a go, I really hope you enjoy my book baby too. Oh, and happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas and grandmamas out there! Bring on the choc.
