My Perfect Weekend…with Hannah Doyle
High-fives all round for making it to the weekend! In celebration of the penultimate part of Hannah Doyle’s serialisation THE YEAR OF SAYING YES being released, we caught up with Hannah to find out what she gets up to on her perfect weekend.
Long lie-in or up with the lark?
I’m up bright and early though it takes outrageously long to ditch my pyjamas.
Full English or a super-food smoothie?
Love a smoothie but weekends = sausage time. Wait, does that sound a bit wrong?
Cocktails or coffee?
When my babies are born it’ll be both at the same time, via a drip.
The feel of a shiny-new book or the smell of a dog-eared classic?
I’m a real sucker for a pretty new cover.
Dressing up to the nines or jeans & wellies?
Both please! Chic for Saturday and wellies for Sunday.
City break or an escape to the country?
Stomping through the leaves on a country walk followed by sherry in a cosy pub.
Traditional Sunday roast or grand kitchen experimenting?
I love trying new recipes but Sundays are made for traditional roasts.
A trip to the cinema or a DVD on the sofa?
Sadly, it’s unacceptable to wear my tatty old uni jumper in public so I’ll go sofa.
Re-reading an old favourite or trying something different?
I’m forever scouting out new books, there’s nothing better than finding a writer you love.
Bookshop browsing or exploring a library?
I can lose hours meandering around bookshops, convincing myself I need another 163 books.
