Tasmina Perry’s Shelfie
Sunday Times bestselling author Tasmina Perry’s new novel THE HOUSE ON SUNSET LAKE is out now in hardback. A heart-wrenching love story bejewelled with mysteries and dark secrets, set in the Deep South. ‘Seductive and mysterious…the perfect novel to while away a summer’s afternoon’ Express.
To celebrate this wonderful read, we decided to share Tasmina’s very own #Shelfie.
‘Here’s me with one of my bookshelves. They’re our most recent ones – we keep having to have more bookshelves made as we have so many books. I hoard them and just can’t get rid of any! My husband despairs of me – once I went to a school fair and bought the entire works of Charles Dickens and Agatha Christie in beautiful leather backed volumes. They are beautiful and to this day, I don’t know how I ever got them all home but it all means that our house is getting overwhelmed with books.
I think my bookshelf reflects the mix of books I love to read, from great commercial page turners like Sidney Sheldon, Dan Brown and Stieg Larsson to some classic British authors like Daphne Du Maurier and Nancy Mitford. I love reading non-fiction too. Seth Godin is a genius author of business books, Bill Bryson and Malcolm Gladwell are favourites too. There’s all sorts of biographies in there too – books on everyone from the Beckhams to Cecil Beaton. People fascinate me – it’s probably why I enjoyed being a journalist so much.’
