Quick-fire Q&A with TRACY REES

If I were to be stranded on a desert island, my one luxury item would be…

A gorgeous, hardback notebook with a beautiful (gold-embossed) design. I’d write in blood or charcoal if necessary.

My most memorable meal…

My publication dinner for Amy Snow! Amazing to celebrate with the lovely Quercus folk and such a special occasion.

The first album I ever bought…

20 Golden Greats by The Beach Boys. Because I liked the cover. But it started a lifelong love affair with the Beach Boys and 60s music in general.

My guilty pleasure…

Eating chocolate oranges. Watching Once Upon a Time. My Strictly obsession…

The item I have more of than anything else…

Books, obviously, but after that probably scarves. It’s like my house is full of rainbows…

The last time I went to the cinema…

Just the day before yesterday! Saw Burnt, starring Bradley Cooper. Very good!

If I had to choose between appearing on Strictly Come Dancing or X Factor…

Strictly! I would LOVE to learn to dance properly, instead of just winging it all the time (which is also fun)!

My favourite city in the world…

San Francisco. So incredibly beautiful.

If I had to re-build my house with either gingerbread or chocolate…

Definitely gingerbread or I wouldn’t have a house for very long.

The best thing about being a writer…

I make up stories for my living! It still makes me so happy I could cry!
